DEERFIELD - Yankee Candle, the scented candle company based in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, is set to lay off about 100 employees at a distribution facility. A WARN notice filed with the state says the layoffs will take effect on Sept. 9.

Yankee Candle Inc. is closing down its distribution center and offices. Newell Brands, says they plan to lay off around 100 employees.

The company says it will continue its other operations in Massachusetts, where it has been headquartered since its founding.

Yankee Candle will shift operations from its distribution center at 27 Yankee Candle Way Sept. 9 and move warehousing to its other two nearby distribution facilities. The move was first announced in January with an unspecified date sometime in 2024.
