This 8x12 pergola canopy (sun shade) is made of fade-resistant 180 GSM High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) knitted fabric that blocks up to 95% of UV rays and is permeable to prevent rain from pooling on top. Each side of the canopy has 4 straps to keep the shade canopy tight and prevent drooping. The pergola canopy includes a total of 12 corner accessory mounts and side accessory mounts combined (as well as 24 stainless steel screws) to secure the canopy's straps to your pergola's corner brackets and beams. (Note: If you indicate that the shade canopy will go over a roof block with 4 corner brackets, you will receive 4 corner mounts and 8 side mounts. If you instead indicate that the canopy will go over a roof block with only 2 corner brackets, you'll receive 2 corner mounts and 10 side mounts.) Please note: The actual dimensions of the shade canopy are 7' 8" by 11' 8" (not 8' by 8'). The canopy is made to fit within an 8-foot by 12-foot opening after using the built-in straps to secure the canopy to the beams. This is exactly how big your pergola's opening will be if you use 8' and 12' long posts for your pergola's roof beams (regardless of whether you're using 4x4 brackets or 6x6 brackets ).
